Taylor's Way

About Taylor's Way

Freight still moves through Princeton at all hours, and if you are awake early enough you hear a train before you hear a single car. Taylor's Way is usually up by then. In the warm half of the year that means mowing, trimming and edging while the dew is still on; in the cold half it means a plow blade down, drives opened and walks shoveled and salted before the town has properly stirred. The same properties, the same routes, an entirely different set of problems depending on the month — that is what makes the work interesting rather than repetitive. And the payoff never gets old: someone steps outside into a morning that has already been taken care of.
