About Total Tree Service LLC

North of Pontiac the ground opens right out, and for a while the only vertical things are the elevator, the grain bins and a hedgerow of osage orange gone shaggy. Total Tree Service works that country along with the shaded blocks in town, where silver maples on the older streets grow faster than they can hold themselves together. Tree removal, tree trimming and pruning are the steady work — thinning a crown so the wind moves through it, taking out a split leader before January decides to. Ice is the local hazard: a glaze storm across Livingston County can load a limb past bearing overnight, and storm damage cleanup at first light means a path cut to the road, the drive opened and the lawn raked down to green. There is little in the trade as satisfying as the drive home past a place you put back together.
