About Allied Services

Pinckneyville's square centers on the Perry County courthouse, and after an overnight storm the whole square can sit white and silent, waiting for someone to make the first move. Allied Services makes it, clearing snow from driveways, sidewalks and parking lots before the shops and offices open. Southern Illinois snow tends to arrive wet and leave as ice, so the plowing is followed closely by salt and de-icer wherever the next freeze would otherwise take hold. The satisfaction is in the contrast: tall banks along the edges, bare pavement down the middle, steps cleared and gritted for the first visitor of the day. Pinckneyville gets its morning back.
