About Harris Outdoor Services

By five o'clock in December the light has gone out of Pendleton and the snow keeps coming anyway, and the only things moving are headlights and the shine of flakes falling through them. Harris Outdoor Services works those long evenings, plowing drives and lots, shoveling the walks a blade can never reach, treating the steps and aprons where ice likes to set up first. Working after dark means reading a property from memory — where the culvert sits, where the bed edging hides, how far you can push before something stops you. All of it comes back to one small moment the next morning, when somebody steps out the door and their footing is exactly where they expected it to be. That is the whole job, and it is worth doing carefully.
