Link's Lawn Care

About Link's Lawn Care

Pembroke is sand country — black oaks standing loose over open ground, a savanna you will not find much of anywhere else, soil that takes a rain and hands it straight down. Lawns here dry fast and green up fast, so cutting them well means reading the ground as much as the calendar. Link's Lawn Care mows, trims and edges through the Kankakee County season, keeping yards even around Hopkins Park and out along the sand roads, then clearing the leaves once the oaks finally drop. There is a particular late-afternoon light on this land, low and gold between the trunks, that makes a freshly cut yard look like something worth stopping for. Some places are worth keeping up on purpose, and this is one of them.
