First light in Pekin and the lawns are still silver with dew; by nine the mowers are laying down lines. Thompson Mowing and Lawncare, Inc works that early window all growing season — mowing, string trimming, edging along drives and foundations — and bookends the year with spring and fall cleanups. Dew slows a morning down, and a good operator waits it out rather than tearing at the turf. Come the leaf weeks the whole schedule tips toward rakes and blowers until the yards are bare again. A straight line across a wide lawn is a small thing that a whole property hangs on.
