Pekin keeps a dragon for its emblem, painted on walls downtown and flying over the high school's fields on Friday nights. Dragon Lawn Care takes the name and the town both seriously: mowing, trimming and cleanup from the first green push in April, plowing and clearing once the drives go white. Spring in this valley starts in mud and ends in grass thick enough to lie down in. Winter asks the opposite question and gets the same answer — show up early, work it properly, leave it clean. In between there is a sharp edge along a walk and a drive open at dawn, which is most of what any yard asks for.
