About DesirableLawn

The Pecatonica River takes its time crossing Winnebago County, looping back on itself through bottomland and oxbow, and the fog off it hangs in the low yards until the sun burns through. Mowing on a dewy morning is its own discipline — heavier cut, clippings that want to clump, a slower pass to leave the surface truly even. DesirableLawn works the village and the country places nearby with weekly mowing, trimming, edging and seasonal cleanups once the cottonwoods and maples let their leaves down. By midsummer the bottoms are deep green all the way out, and a lawn cut level against that reads clean from the road. The result is meant to be looked at, not thought about.
