About AJ Adams & Sons

Winter comes at Paris on the wind, straight out of the northwest, with open ground and nothing else between the fields and the front step. AJ Adams & Sons works the hours before that wind quits — four in the morning, headlights swinging onto a drift that closed a driveway sometime after midnight. The plow takes one wide pass, then comes back for the corners a blade can't reach, and salt gets spread where shade keeps ice around longer than it should. By the time the first trucks are rolling on the highway, there's pavement where there wasn't any, and the snow is banked back out of the way in a straight line. Snow removal in Paris, Illinois, done while most of the town is still dark.
