Saturday morning on the Palos hills, dew still heavy, and the first pass of the day draws a dark line across a pale lawn — that is the whole appeal of the work. Mow&Behold cuts, edges, trims and cleans up yards across town, taking the slopes and the odd-shaped lots the glacier left behind. Grass on a grade wants a different line than grass on the flat, and a mower has to be driven rather than merely pushed. Straight stripes, a border cut down to the concrete, the clippings blown off the walk before the truck moves on. By afternoon the yard looks like somebody meant it.
