The older blocks near the Little White School Museum have narrow lots, deep porches and sidewalks that predate half the trees now shading them. S & J's Lawn care fits that scale — mowing and trimming in tight yards, edging along walks that bend around old roots, cleanups in spring and again in fall. In winter those same sidewalks are a village responsibility and a real one, so the shovels and the plow come out for walks and short drives. Nothing on these streets calls for big machinery; it calls for somebody who will get the corners. Old blocks stay walkable because someone bothers.
