Oak Lawn Snow Plow

About Oak Lawn Snow Plow

Three in the morning on 95th Street: orange lamplight, no traffic, snow coming sideways past the wires. Oak Lawn Snow Plow is out in it, because the big hospital in this town keeps its own hours and so do the people who have to drive to it. The plow lays one pass down the driveway and a second one wider, salt goes where boots will actually land, and the walk gets scraped to bare pavement rather than nearly-bare. Almost nobody sees the work happen, which is more or less the point of it. They wake up, look out the front window, and the day is simply available to them.
