A&J Lawn and More

About A&J Lawn and More

Three in the morning on the Green Mount Road stretch. The lots are empty, the light is orange, and the blade goes down. A&J Lawn and More runs snow work in O'Fallon: plowing driveways and commercial lots, shoveling by hand where a truck cannot reach, spreading salt on the ice that forms when a daytime melt refreezes after dark. By the time the first cars come off the interstate ramp the pavement is black and wet and nobody gives it a thought, which is exactly the point. The area covered runs from O'Fallon out to its neighbors on the west side.
