The Constitution Trail runs its old railbed clear across Normal, and it makes a good calendar: green tunnel in July, bare and blue-shadowed in January. Goembel's Grounds & Landscaping works both ends of that year — mowing, edging, trimming and cleanups through the growing months, then plowing, shoveling and ice control once the ground goes hard. A property looked after all summer is easier to clear in winter, and the same eye for a clean edge shows up in a plow line laid tight against a curb. There is something plainly good about handing a driveway back wide open at daybreak, with the banks stacked square and the walk down to bare concrete. Come April the grass is under there, waiting, and the whole rhythm starts over.
