Leveque’s Clean Cut Trees

About Leveque’s Clean Cut Trees

October turns the fencerows loose out here — hedge apples in the ditch, walnut leaves down in a single night, the Sangamon running low under the old Hazen Bridge. Leveque's Clean Cut Trees spends those mornings on lawn work around Newcomb Township, mowing what is left of the season's growth and hauling leaves off before a rain packs them into the turf. A hard frost stiffens everything overnight and the grass will not cut clean until mid-morning, so you learn to build the day around that. Through the summer it is regular mowing and trimming around trunks and posts without scarring bark, and then the long autumn raking. By the time the fields are bare, the yards along the township roads look swept, which is the whole point.
