About Coley's Ground's Keeper's

September evenings in Mount Vernon come in gold and long, light stretching across open ground until the grass looks lit from underneath. Coley's Ground's Keeper's is finishing up in it — mower loaded, trimmer still warm, one last pass along a sidewalk edge that had gotten shaggy. Mowing, edging and cleanup, held to the standard where turf takes a stripe and keeps it. There is a particular pleasure in walking a property at the end and finding nothing to go back for. Grass around here keeps growing well into October, and they keep showing up for it.
