Weller Creek slides quietly beneath the bridges of Mount Prospect, past backyards where the parkway oaks were planted long before the split-levels went up around them. A&N Outdoor Services works those blocks — the alley-fed lots, the corner yards that catch every gust off the open ground west of Rand Road. Summer here is mowing and trimming until the grass lies down in even bands and the walk lines look drawn with a straightedge. Then the wind turns, and the same driveways get opened before the first Metra train rolls east out of downtown.
