About Piatt County Service Company

Piatt County is a small square of prairie and it fills with snow all at once — Monticello and Bement and Cisco and DeLand going white on the same clock, township roads drifting shut while the towns are still asleep. Piatt County Service Company works winter at that scale: plowing lots and drives, opening approaches, clearing walks, and laying salt where ice would otherwise set up hard before daylight. Wide open ground makes big drifts, and a place cleared once at midnight often wants a second look at five in the morning. The satisfaction is the map at the end of a long night with everything on it open. Snow removal across Monticello and Piatt County.
