Sylvan Slough splits off the Mississippi at the lower end of Moline, and in October the water there goes glassy while the cottonwoods let go all at once. Pro Outdoor Maintenance meets that fall with mowing, edging, trimming and full property cleanups, then holds the winter with plowing, walk clearing and ice control. A yard put to bed properly in November is half the battle come April. In between, the snow work runs on its own clock, whenever the river valley decides to fill in. Moline expects both, and both are worth doing.
