Winter reaches Minooka from the open west, where the fields run flat to the tree line and there is nothing to slow the wind but a fence. On those mornings the work is plowing, shoveling and spreading salt, so a driveway is dark and passable while the sky is still the color of iron. Come April the same ground softens along Aux Sable Creek, and the mowers come out for the long green months of cutting, edging and trimming. There is a particular pleasure in a lawn striped even from curb to back fence, and in a walk cleared so completely the concrete shows. Edgebrook Outdoors, LLC works both halves of the Minooka year.
