Meridian Snow Removal

About Meridian Snow Removal

A meridian is a line running due north and south, which suits a town where the coldest air comes straight down out of the north. In Meridian, Illinois, a winter front can lay snow from one horizon to the other in a single night. Meridian Snow Removal goes out to meet it: plowing at midnight, a second pass after the wind has drifted the edges back in, shovels for the steps and the narrow path to the door. There's real pride in a drive scraped clear to the pavement, its banks stacked neatly out of the way. While flakes are still falling, the town's mornings are already being dug out.
