About Carlota's Landscaping

Snow falling over McCullom Lake at three in the morning drops into a silence that feels like it belongs to somebody. Carlota's Landscaping is usually awake in it, running plow routes through McHenry before the first car of the day makes a rut worth fighting. Driveways come first, then walkways down to the pavement, then salt across the spots that hold ice past noon. By breakfast the streets are still white and the drives are not, and that contrast is the whole point of the night. Snow service covers McHenry, McCullom Lake, Johnsburg and Wonder Lake.
