About WCD Services LLC

The first hard freeze in Mattoon usually shows up on a still December night, and by morning the puddles have gone white and every step outside has an opinion about it. WCD Services LLC works that season across the town's business district and the neighborhoods around it — plowing lots and drives, scraping sidewalks down to concrete, and putting salt where meltwater keeps returning as ice. Freeze and thaw run in cycles here, so the storm is only the beginning; the days afterward matter just as much. Entrances, ramps, and walkways get checked and treated so people can come and go without thinking about the pavement at all. That, honestly, is the goal — a winter morning in Mattoon where the snow is somebody else's story.
