AN IDEAL CUT

About AN IDEAL CUT

The name sets a standard, and in Mascoutah you can tell from the curb whether it was met. Summers here mean mowing and trimming ahead of the thunderheads that stack up west over the fields; winters mean a plow blade on a driveway at four in the morning, before anyone has found their keys. AN IDEAL CUT handles both ends of the calendar — grass kept even and edges kept honest, then snow pushed back and walks salted so the first step outside is a safe one. There is something clean about a drive cleared and squared to the apron while the porch lights are still the only light on Route 4. Same yard, two kinds of weather, one standard.
