About Beverly Companies

Markham holds a remnant of tallgrass prairie that was never turned by a plow, and in winter you can see exactly what this ground has always been — open, wind-scoured, nothing standing between you and the weather. The same wind finds the parking lots and driveways a block away. Beverly Companies runs the snow work there: plowing lots and drives, clearing walks down to the pavement, and salting so the melt-and-refreeze cycle does not undo the night's effort by noon. Storms here often arrive as a dense, wet snow that sets up like concrete if it is left to sit, which is why timing matters more than anything else. There is a plain pride in pulling into a lot at six and finding it already black and open.
