About McPherson Holiday Lighting

By four o'clock in December the sky over Marion has gone one soft, even grey, and the whole town leans toward the short evening ahead. That is the hour McPherson Holiday Lighting watches, because southern Illinois weather can turn from grey to falling in the space of a coffee, and once it starts a drive will fill faster than anyone expects. The work is plowing and clearing: pavement taken down to the surface, walks and entries opened wide enough to be safe in the dark, salt laid where the melt would otherwise refreeze overnight. Marion's flat blocks and long approaches make for honest, straightforward pushing, and there is a plain pleasure in leaving a property that looks unbothered by the whole storm. Winter here is short on daylight and long on effort, and that effort is worth doing well.
