Marengo's downtown holds its old brick right up close to the sidewalk, and in winter those walks have to be opened early or nobody gets through the door. Pretty Stone Landscape and Design Inc plows and salts through the cold stretch — drives, lots, walkways — then turns to mowing, edging and property cleanups once Route 20 stops throwing salt spray. The work sits at the seam between two seasons: whatever the weather is doing, the ground still has to be usable.
