The Des Plaines River draws its slow green line along the west side of the township, and the old oaks in its bottomland set the calendar for everybody nearby. Earth Elements Landscape and Snow Removal follows that whole calendar, mowing and trimming and cleaning up while the ground is soft, plowing and clearing once it is not. There is a particular pleasure in the last leaf haul of November, the yard swept bare, the mower put away, the blade going on. Then the storms come across the low country and the work turns to driveways opened before breakfast and walks scraped down to dark concrete. Same properties, same care, two very different kinds of quiet.
