Alway's the Greenest Lawn

About Alway's the Greenest Lawn

Under these blocks lies the black prairie loam that once grew grass higher than a person, long before the township was ever laid out in streets. Alway's the Greenest Lawn works with that inheritance in mind, mowing and trimming through the long green middle of a Maine Township June. Mid-morning, with the silver maples throwing shade across half the yard, the mower moves in even passes and the color deepens behind it. Edges are cut clean along the walk, clippings swept off the concrete, the whole property suddenly reading as cared for. Grass is a simple thing to grow here; keeping it lovely week after week is the part worth taking seriously.
