About Kouski Landscape Co.

October may be the best-kept secret in Mahomet — oaks turning slow and rust-colored, the sun low all afternoon, the air finally cool enough to work in from dawn to dusk. Kouski Landscape Co. is out in the middle of it, finishing the season's mowing and trimming while the light holds, keeping lawns neat right up to the week growth quits for good. Then the first plowable storm arrives, generally before anyone feels ready, and the work turns to driveways, walks and salted concrete. A cleared drive at first light, with the snow stacked square at the edge of it, is a genuinely satisfying thing to leave behind. One town, two trades, and a full calendar stretched between them.
