5A Lawn Maintenance

About 5A Lawn Maintenance

Ogden Avenue still carries the old Route 66 line straight through Lyons, and the side streets running off it keep their own quieter kind of order. 5A Lawn Maintenance works those blocks in the flat gold light of a Cook County July, mowing, trimming and edging until each yard reads as one clean rectangle again. There is real satisfaction in a stripe laid straight down a narrow village lot, and in a curb line where the grass stops exactly where it should. Summer here comes on humid and fast, so the schedule keeps pace: cut, tidy, haul the clippings off, move on to the next gate. By evening the whole block looks like somebody meant it.
