Norris & Son Tree Service

About Norris & Son Tree Service

From Lovington the land runs flat and generous toward Sullivan, and for a mile at a stretch the only vertical things are a grain leg and a row of yard trees somebody planted on purpose. Norris & Son Tree Service looks after that row — pruning maples and pin oaks so they hold together in a Moultrie County wind, trimming limbs back off the machine shed, removing what has gone hollow at the base. On nights when a squall line comes down out of the northwest, the morning brings storm damage cleanup: wood cut up, drive opened, brush loaded and gone. In country this open a shade tree is closer to infrastructure than decoration, and losing one is felt. So the cuts are made carefully, and the yard is left cleaner than it was found.
