Midland Snow & Ice

About Midland Snow & Ice

Lombard nights in February have a particular sound to them: a blade scraping three streets over, then nothing, then closer. Midland Snow & Ice runs those hours — plowing lots and drives, clearing sidewalks and entryways, moving piles back when they have grown too tall to see around, and salting the shaded stretches that refreeze after a bright afternoon. Commercial ground is unforgiving; a lot has to be open before the first car turns in, and the walk has to be walkable in dress shoes. There is a plain pride in a property that looks like winter simply did not happen to it. Lombard and the surrounding DuPage towns, all winter.
