About Burgener Plastering Inc

Winter here doesn't announce itself. A front swings down out of the northwest, the sky goes the color of ash, and by three in the morning the county road out toward Lodge is one white surface with no edges to it. Burgener Plastering Inc runs the snow work then — drives plowed open and pushed back to make room for the next one, walks and steps shoveled clear, salt worked in where the ice tries to bond. Rural lanes are long and unforgiving once they drift, and a place that can't get out is a place that can't get to work. Handing somebody back a black drive and a safe path to the door before daylight is the whole reward.
