About Philip's Tree and Stump Removal Inc.

Winter strips the country around Locust down to its bones, and that is when a tree finally tells you the truth about itself. Philip's Tree and Stump Removal Inc. reads those bare crowns and works while the ground is firm — tree removal with room to drop, trimming that opens up a crowded fence line, and then the stump ground out below grade so nothing is left to catch a mower blade in May. There is real satisfaction in that last step: chips filling the hollow, the lawn closing over the place where a problem used to stand. Cold mornings, steam coming off the truck, a clean face on a cut that will not sprout again. Come spring, the only evidence of the whole job is more open sky.
