About FB Outdoor Services

Out in Tazewell County there is nothing between a north wind and a driveway but stubble, and a three-inch snow can drift a lane shut by morning. FB Outdoor Services works those hours — plowing drives and lots before daylight, cutting the banks back so the next storm has somewhere to go, shoveling walks and steps, salting the ice that forms where the wind polishes pavement. Farm drives here run long and straight, and they have to be opened wide enough to actually use. There is a specific quiet at four in the morning with the plow lights on and the fields going white on both sides, and a specific satisfaction in a lane cleared end to end. People wake up and get where they are going; that is the whole errand.
