There is one Saturday every April when Lisle decides winter is finished: sixty degrees, ground finally firm, half the older blocks north of the tracks out with rakes. First Cut Landscape Inc lives for that morning. The season opens with cleanups, matted thatch pulled off, beds cut back, and then the first mow of the year, which always looks better than it has any right to. From there it is weekly cutting, edging, trimming and hauling clippings straight through the long Illinois summer. A yard that starts clean in spring stays easy to keep, and that is the whole idea behind the name.
