Saturday morning in a village of a few hundred has its own sound: a mower two streets over, a dog, somebody's screen door. Farrell's Lawn Service is part of that in Liberty from April into October — cutting yards, running the trimmer along fences and foundations, clearing the clippings so the sidewalk looks like nobody was ever there. Small towns notice detail; a yard tended right is half the character of a block. The work is unglamorous and it shows every single time, which is rather the point. Come evening the streets look cared for, and that is a thing worth doing well.
