About Germaine Gomez Snow and Ice Management

South of the village, past where the streets give up their curbs, Lemont opens back into Illinois country and the wind gets a running start. Snow out there does not so much fall as travel, packing into the lee of a fence line and rebuilding the drift an hour after you have cut through it. Germaine Gomez Snow and Ice Management plans for the rebuild, taking long approaches and wide commercial entries with a second pass already in the schedule. Ice management is the patient half of it, watching the pavement go cold and spreading ahead of the glaze rather than behind it. The reward comes at first light, when a drive that was a blank white field is a straight dark line out to the road.
