Le Roy sits on high open ground between Bloomington and Champaign, close enough to hear the interstate on a still night and close enough to Moraine View that the tree line breaks the sky to the north. Through the growing months JT's Lawncare & Landscaping LLC keeps yards on a mowing turn — trimming along fence rows, edging the walks, cleanups in spring and again once the last leaves are down. Then McLean County winter arrives sideways, blowing snow off miles of stubble until a drive is closed again an hour after it was opened. The plow goes back out, the walks get shoveled and salted, and the drive gets pushed wide so it stays open through the next one. Twice a year the work changes entirely, and both halves end with a place looking cared for.
