A's Lawn And Land

About A's Lawn And Land

Morning at Lacon comes up over the bluff and spreads out across the Illinois River until the water is bright all the way to the far bank. A's Lawn And Land is working by then — mowing, trimming, edging, and hauling off what spring and fall leave scattered on a yard. River-town lots run every shape there is, from level blocks in town to slopes tipping down toward the water, and each one gets cut to suit it. What makes the day is the look back at the end of it: even grass, sharp borders, a tidy walk. Lacon and the Marshall County towns nearby.
