About County Line Service, Inc.

Out past the edge of Kewanee the section roads run arrow-straight and the wind has nothing to slow it, so snow out here does not so much fall as travel. County Line Service, Inc. is in it at three in the morning with the plow down, opening driveways and lots before the day starts asking anything of anybody. Drifts get pushed back past the mailbox so the next storm has somewhere to go, walks are cleared to bare surface, and ice is treated before it can set. There is a particular quiet in a cab at that hour, the headlights full of falling snow and one open lane appearing behind you. Snow work for Kewanee and the county roads around it, storm after storm.
