About Whitakers Tree Service

The Kankakee River runs over limestone shelves at the edge of town, and the sycamores along the bank lean out over the water as if trying to read it. Whitakers Tree Service works the neighborhoods up above that river — trimming and pruning the maples and oaks that shade the older streets, removing what has gone hollow, and turning out for storm damage cleanup when a front comes down the valley. River-town wind is an unpredictable thing and it tests every bad union it can find. Fall is the good season for the heavy jobs: leaves down, crowns readable, ground still firm enough to set up on. Kankakee, Bourbonnais, Bradley, Aroma Park and Manteno are all within an easy run.
