About Pure Prairie Organics

South of Joliet the Midewin tallgrass runs to the horizon, big bluestem over your head by August and bison somewhere out in it, a reminder of what this ground was doing before any of us mowed it. Pure Prairie Organics keeps Joliet lawns in trim with that memory close at hand: regular mowing, edging, trimming and the spring and fall cleanups that let a yard turn over cleanly. Prairie soil is generous when it is treated like soil and not like a floor, and grass cut at the right height through an Illinois summer holds its color far longer than a lawn scalped in June. The result is simple and worth having — green underfoot, tidy edges, a yard that feels like part of the place it sits in. Grass has been growing here a long time; the work is just helping it along.
