Joliet's silver maples go yellow along the older streets in October, and for two weeks the light coming through them makes every lawn look better than it is. Golden Landscaping LLC works both sides of that turn — mowing, trimming and edging while the grass still grows, then leaf and bed cleanups as the trees let go. Once the ground hardens the trucks change over: plowing driveways, clearing walks, salting steps and aprons. It is a full circle of a year in one town, and the crew sees the same yards in every mood they have. October gold, February drifts, and the first cut back in April.
