Lawn badger

About Lawn badger

July in Jersey County is thick — river humidity rolling up out of the bottoms, orchards and cornfields breathing all day, grass that shrugs off one cut and comes right back for another. Lawn badger works the early hours before the heat sets its full weight down, mowing at a height that lets a lawn hold its color through the worst of it, then trimming and edging while the dew is still on. Out here a yard sits between big open country and thick timber, and keeping that line sharp is most of the job. Coming back past at dusk to see the stripes still standing is the payoff.
