The Salt Fork runs east of the village, and the weather here follows the same open country the river does — nothing much to slow a summer sun or a January wind. Dz Lawn & Snow works Homer twelve months a year: mowing, trimming and edging through the growing months, plowing and shoveling drives and lots once the ground goes hard. Village yards sit close and neat, farm-edge properties run long, and both are on the route. In warm weather that means a lawn cut level with tidy borders; in cold it means a drive down to pavement while it is still dark out. Same job, really — making a place easy to walk out of in the morning.
