About Clear-A-Path LLC

A January wind in Homer gets a long running start. It crosses mile after mile of open Champaign County farmland with nothing to slow it, lifts the snow off the bare fields, and lays it back down in hard-edged drifts across driveways and the shoulders of Route 49. Clear-A-Path LLC does snow removal in Homer, and the name is the whole promise: a clean way out to the road. Down along the Salt Fork of the Vermilion, the bare trees stand gray against a white sky while the village hunkers down in all that openness. A plowed drive shows as a straight dark stripe in the glare, banks squared on either side, the path to the street open again. On ground this exposed, where the wind hardly ever rests, that stripe is how a winter morning gets started.
