About Dufour Landscape and Drainage Services LLC

The Des Plaines River bends through the east side of Proviso Township, and the low ground beside it remembers every thaw. Dufour Landscape and Drainage Services LLC works winter with that geography in mind — where the plow pile is set so the melt does not run back across the drive and freeze, which shaded stretch holds ice into the afternoon, which walk needs salt before the temperature turns at dusk. A storm is straightforward; it is the day after that separates a cleared property from a merely plowed one. Plowing, salting, walks and steps opened by hand, piles pushed clear of the places water wants to go. The measure of a good night is a driveway that is bare, dry and quiet at seven in the morning. In the bottomland towns near the river, that takes a little more thought, and it is worth it.
