April in Hensley turns quick: one warm week and the whole township goes from brown to a green so loud it looks brand new. Jamie's Lawn Care meets it with the first cut of the year, the one that takes twice as long and feels twice as good, followed by trimming along fences, foundations and mailbox posts. From there it becomes a steady schedule of mowing through the long growing spell, with the fence lines kept tight as the summer goes on. Out where the fields run all the way to the horizon, a kept yard is the one piece of ground somebody gets to shape by hand. That is worth doing carefully, week after week.
